Q. What types of clients does HRRG service?
A. HRRG focuses exclusively on healthcare collections, serving a client base of large physician groups and hospitals. We do not accept placements for other types of debt, such as telecommunications, retail, utilities or education.
Q. Which states do you operate in?
A. HRRG currently offers medical debt collection services in 46 states (excluding CO, MA, NC, and NM).
Q. Do you handle paper accounts?
A. No. Since our collections process is built upon an advanced computerized system, HRRG only works on accounts where all information is in electronic format.
Q. Do you accept secondary placements?
A. No; we focus on primary placements only. This means that we do not work on accounts that have been handled previously by another collection agency.
Q. Do you have a minimum dollar amount on claims placed with your agency?
A. We prefer to work with large physician groups and hospitals on high-volume placements totaling at least $1 million per year.
Q. How long has HRRG been in business?
A. Our company was formed in 1996 to better serve the needs of our parent organization, TeamHealth, the nation's leading provider of clinical outsourcing services. As healthcare professionals ourselves, HRRG has developed collections methodologies to meet the unique needs of healthcare providers. Learn more about our company.
Q. What sets HRRG apart from other collection agencies?
A. HRRG takes a holistic approach to the collections process, recognizing that bad medical debt can occur at all stages of the revenue cycle. In addition to helping you collect the money your practice is owed, we help you determine why revenue was not collected earlier in the billing process. Through our vast expertise in medical billing, advanced technology infrastructure and patient-friendly philosophy, HRRG helps you collect more of your debts while maintaining favorable patient relations. Q. Can you handle an "early out" program and operate as an extension of our business office?
A. Yes. Given the sheer volume of claims that need resolution - and the challenges associated with those that are hard to collect - your practice may find itself overburdened with unpaid, denied or ignored claims that are already aged 45 to 60 days. HRRG’s "early out" service transfers these accounts to our call center where they are handled with a mail and dialing campaign. This service relieves your administrative staff and allows them to focus on newer, high-dollar accounts. Once your accounts have aged to 120-150 days, they can be transferred to the collection agency of your choosing, or we can keep them here and work them as collection accounts.
Q. What is a "challenger competition"? How will it benefit us?
A. In a challenger competition, a hospital or physician group splits a group of similar accounts evenly between two or more collection agencies. Each agency’s performance is then measured according to the results of monthly batch-tracking reports. A challenger competition enables your practice to equitably compare the performances of its agencies and better understand your return on investment.
